Proof
One number from the fashion market, with its footnote.
A number goes up here only when it passes our coverage check. Counted by stores, each store once. Categories, never brand names. Every number dated.
We are not publishing markdowns this week.
The number holds with the footnote read.
It does not.
Not enough behind it yet, so we wait.

We check it against what stores actually did and answer in public with one word: proof, rumor or pending. We never name the brand or the person who sent it.
- Public data only. Product listings from public storefronts.
- Categories, never brands. We report the market, not anyone's business.
- Every number is dated. Price numbers use only prices read in the 7 days shown, and say the latest date read. Launches and delistings come from store lists, read more often.
- One markdown definition. The share of US stores in a category with at least one product marked down, and among them, the share marked down at the typical store. Each store counts once. Both use prices read in the 7 days shown, and every number says how much of the category we read.
- Attention is page views. Public page views of a category, against the same week last year. Never social posts, and never a count of views.
- Corrections stay public. If a number is wrong, we post the correction in the same slot, and it stays on Graded in public.

Why categories and not brands?
Because we report the market, not anyone's business. Brand-level views are for each customer's own competitor set, inside their account.
How old are the prices?
Price numbers use only prices read in the 7 days shown, and say the latest date read. Launches and delistings come from store lists, read more often.
Can I get the data behind a number?
Customers can. Pulse holds every figure behind every number, with its source and date.
